The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof Earnest Kofi Davis, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, visited Wioso Senior High School, also known as Alma Mater Education and Mankranso Senior High School in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.

During his visit, he paid a courtesy call to the District Chief Executive, Hon. Abubakar Sedik to announce his presence in the District. The Hon DCE briefed him on the challenges the District is facing in the education sector.

Hon. Abubakar Sedik touched on the inadequate teachers and the uncompleted GETfund projects in the District. He noted that completing the uncompleted school buildings in the District will help curb the overcrowding situation of pupils in the classroom.

At Wioso Senior High School, Prof Davis assured the Chief and elders of Wioso and the management of the school that, the process of government absorbing the school has started as requested by the Toni Gann Foundation, who are the managers of the School. In all, 49 teaching and non-teaching staff will be absorbed and put on the government's payroll.
