The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have developed a Records Management Manual as a way of strengthening the Records Units of the RCC's and MMDA's to deliver their services effectively and efficiently to their Clients. The Office of the Head of LGS therefore organised Training of Trainers programme in partnership with a consultant who trained selected staff of the Regional Coordinating Council on the new Records Management Manual developed for the LGS. The manual was developed with the objective to improve records management capacity across the service. To roll out the new Record Management Manual, a two day training workshop was organised by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council on the 8th and 9th of May, 2023 to train officers at the records management unit. Trainees were tasked to brief heads of department of their various Assemblies for a successful rollout of the manual. In view of this, the record management unit organized a meeting to brief HODs on the new system. In a brief address, the Coordinating Director Paul Atsu Agbezudor urged all HODs to study the new Records Management Manual for deeper understanding for a smooth rollout. A trainee from the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly, Olivia Edwin and her team on Friday May 26, 2023 briefed and trained heads of department of the Assembly on the new Records Management Manual at the conference room of the Assembly for a deeper understanding before the rollout. #ISD
