Nana Dr Agyemang Badu Duah I, Kunsuhene has cut sod for the commencement of the construction of a 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for Kunsu Roman Catholic Basic School.
The project, as explained in detail by Engineer Alexander Kello, will cost Ghc1.2 million and it is expected to be completed in the space of three months.
Speaking at a brief ceremony held at Kunsu on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Dr Nana Agyemang Badu Duah I, noted that the facility would ensure access to quality education by pupils in Kunsu and its environments.
“This forms part of my efforts aimed at encouraging the younger ones to take education seriously within the Ahafo Ano South West enclave. My effort is also to create a conducive environment for teaching and learning,” he added.
According to the Chief, creating an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning has been his topmost priority as a Chief, adding that he has decided to use all available resources to provide quality educational infrastructure for the Kunsu community and other adjoining communities under his care.
Nana Agyemang Badu Duah I, noted that the government has prioritized education, and for that matter, he has also initiated several policies not only to improve teaching and learning but also to make education more attractive and accessible to the children in Kunsu.
“I invest in education because I take my inspiration from Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II. At first, we became victorious by war, but the system has changed; this time, we can be victorious through education, and this is why I’m investing more in education. He added that quality education is the surest way one can be victorious.
"I’m sacrificing for Asanteman; I’m ready to transform the image of Asante and Kunsu with all my strength; pray for me for a long life for me to render my services to the maximum", he noted.
