The Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly held a special meeting on Thursday, May 15, 2025, to confirm the president nominee as the District Chief Executive.

Hon. Sadiq Abubakar was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Assembly Members after polling 41/41 votes, representing 100%.

The ceremony, held at the Assembly Hall, was attended by very important dignitaries, including: His Worship Emmanuel Adu Wiafe, Akropong court Magistrate, Mr. Usman Nabali, Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser for the NDC who represented the Regional Minister, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, Member of Parliament, Paul Atsu Agebezudor, District Coordinating Director, Hon. Prince Oppong, Presiding Member, Nana Dr Agyemang Badu Duah I, Chief of Kunsu, Nana Assaw Ababio I, Chief of Wioso, Nana Osei Tweneboa, Akwamuhene for Mpaasaso No1, Nana Bekoe Manu, Gyasehene, Mankranso, the security agencies, Heads of Department and party executives. .

In his inaugural speech, Hon. Sadiq Abubakar expressed his gratitude to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, Traditional Authorities, Hon. Assembly Members, Party Executives and Party Members. .

The Hon. DCE pledged to improving infrastructure in education and health sectors, providing business support services to farmers, boosting revenue mobilization and improving the poor road, electricity and telecommunications network. .

He also pledged to work with everyone, regardless of political affiliation, to build a District that reflects the hopes and aspirations of the people of Ahafo Ano South West District. .
