The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene has advised candidates sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) not to panic but rather gather the courage and write what they know. He also advised them to avoid any form of examination malpractice as they commence the examination today.

Addressing the candidates at Mankranso Senior High School in the Ahafo Ano South West District on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Minister urged the students to have study groups to help each other before any examination day. According to the Minister, this will help boost the students' confidence since this is the first step of their journey in life. .

"On behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama and myself as the Ashanti Regional Minister, I want to extend warm wishes and heartfelt encouragement to all the candidates gathered here. I urge you all to remain focused and determined for success awaits you," he said. .

Dr Frank Amoakohene, who toured four examination centers in the Ahafo Ano South West District donated Mathematical sets and pens to all 1,450 candidates in the District. He asked the invigilators to invigilate and not to intimidate the candidates. .

The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the provision of adequate infrastructure to all Senior High Schools to curb future overcrowding in the various Senior High Schools in the country. .

The BECE began today, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 and is expected to end on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. .

This year, a total number of 119,354 candidates are participating in the exams in the Ashanti Region with Ahafo Ano South West District having 1,450 candidates in 5 examination centers. .

The Ashanti Regional Minister was accompanied by Hon.
