The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, has distributed thousands of English and Twi textbooks to pupils and students across the constituency in a bid to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

In total, 12,406 copies of textbooks were supplied to both primary and junior high schools. The breakdown includes 1,731 English reading books for Basic 1, 3,675 English reading books for Basic 2 and 3, making a total of 5,406 copies for the lower primary. Additionally, 2,000 Twi reading books were provided for the lower primary level, while another 2,000 English language books were supplied to junior high schools.

3,000 English language books were also distributed to the upper primary to meet the growing demand among pupils.

The intervention comes at a time when schools in the constituency are recording an enrollment of 10,794 pupils at the primary level and 7,843 students at the JHS level.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Hon. Dapaah said the gesture formed part of his commitment to promote quality education and to ensure that no child in the constituency is left behind due to lack of learning materials.

He noted that literacy is a foundation for academic success, adding that the distribution of textbooks will help reduce the burden on parents and teachers while enhancing the reading culture among pupils.

Teachers and education stakeholders in the constituency have expressed appreciation to the MP for the timely intervention, describing it as a major boost to education in the area.
