The vision to establish a modern, fully functional market in Mankranso has taken a major step forward as the consultant for the project, together with his technical team, visited the proposed site today in the company of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, and management of the Assembly.

The visit follows the ongoing implementation of the government’s 24-hour market initiative, aimed at boosting economic activities and expanding job opportunities across the country.

During the site inspection, the consultant briefed the DCE and his team on the project’s structural plan, expected facilities, and timelines. The model market is expected to feature modern stalls, improved sanitation systems, security provisions, a school, a fire service station and spaces conducive to both day and night trading.

Hon. Abubakar Sedik expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to facilitating a smooth execution of the project. He emphasised that the model market will significantly transform commercial activities in Mankranso, strengthen the local economy, and create opportunities for traders, farmers, and youth within the district.

He commended the consultant and his team for their professionalism and assured that the Assembly will continue to prioritise initiatives that uplift the district.

The site visit marks an important milestone toward the commencement of construction, bringing the people of Mankranso one step closer to enjoying a modern marketplace under the visionary leadership of Hon. Abubakar Sedik.
