Hon. Abubakar Sedik has been honoured as the Best Performing District Chief Executive (DCE) for 2025 by the Ghana Leadership Awards in recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
\r\nThe prestigious award was presented at a colourful ceremony held at the Lapalm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Friday, 19 December 2025, bringing together government officials, traditional leaders, civil society actors and stakeholders from across the country.
\r\nThe citation accompanying the award highlighted Hon. Sedik’s remarkable achievements in governance, infrastructure development, social intervention programmes and inclusive leadership. Under his stewardship, the District has witnessed significant progress in education, sanitation, access to potable water, road infrastructure and youth empowerment initiatives, earning him widespread commendation from residents and development partners.
\r\nPresenting the award, organisers of the Ghana Leadership Awards noted that Hon. Sedik demonstrated exceptional administrative competence, transparency and a people-centred approach to development which distinguished him among his peers nationwide.
\r\nIn his acceptance speech, the Hon. Abubakar Sedik expressed profound gratitude to the organisers, describing the award as a collective achievement rather than a personal one. He dedicated the honour to the people of Ahafo Ano South West, the District Assembly Staff, traditional authorities, opinion leaders and all stakeholders who continue to support the development agenda.
\r\n“This recognition motivates me to work even harder. It is a reminder that leadership is about service, sacrifice and delivering results that improve lives,” he stated.
\r\nHon. Sedik reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating development projects and strengthening collaboration to ensure sustainable growth and improved living standards for residents of the District.
