The Mankranso Government Hospital has held a community engagement forum to solicit concerns, suggestions and recommendations from residents on the services provided by the facility and identify practical measures to improve healthcare delivery.

The engagement, held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, brought together stakeholders from across the Mankranso Traditional Area, including traditional leaders, community members, health officials, local government representatives and other key stakeholders.

The forum provided an opportunity for members of the public to openly share their experiences and concerns regarding the patronage of the hospital, the quality of services and other challenges affecting healthcare delivery in the area.

Addressing the gathering, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Ahafo Ano South West District, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, commended the management and staff of the Mankranso Government Hospital for their efforts in providing healthcare services to residents.

The DCE stressed the importance of regular engagement between health facilities and the communities they serve, noting that such platforms were essential for identifying challenges and finding solutions that would improve healthcare delivery.

He encouraged residents to make effective use of the hospital and assured them of the Assembly's commitment to working with the Ghana Health Service and other stakeholders to address concerns raised by the communities.

The District Health Director, Dr Jerry Adu Amankwah, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers and the communities.

He explained that feedback from residents was vital to improving the delivery and patronage of health services within the District.

The Medical Superintendent of the Mankranso Government Hospital, Dr Twumasi, spoke on the operations of the facility and encouraged community members to continue engaging management whenever they encountered challenges with the hospital's services.

Representing the traditional authorities, the Akwamuhene of the Mankranso Traditional Area, Nana Adu Pako, underscored the role of traditional leaders and community members in supporting the hospital and promoting good health within the traditional area.

Members of the public were allowed to voice their concerns directly to the health authorities. The concerns raised covered various aspects of healthcare delivery and the general experience of residents who patronise the facility.

The engagement was therefore seen as an important platform for bridging the gap between healthcare providers and the people, while creating a mechanism through which concerns could be received, discussed and addressed.

One of the major highlights of the programme was a captivating performance by the cultural dance group, which added a vibrant cultural dimension to the community’s engagement.

The performance entertained participants and provided a memorable cultural touch to the event, demonstrating how traditional music and dance can be incorporated into community programmes to promote unity, participation and local identity.
