Who Are We?

Ahafo Ano South-West District Assembly was carved out of the Ahafo-Ano South District in March, 2018 by the Legislative Instrument 2323 in 2018 (LI 2323, 2018).

The District is divided into Five (5) Area Councils and further subdivided into 29 Electoral Areas.

The Assembly has 44 Assembly Members made up of 29 Elected, 13 Appointed Members, One District Chief Executive and One Member of Parliament. (M–40 (90.9%), F–4 (9.1%). The District covers the entire Ahafo Ano South-West Constituency.

To improve the living standards of the people through the implementation of pragmatic Projects and Activities targeted at addressing the infrastructural, socio-economic and other identified development gaps to meet the aspirations of the people in the District.

To be a first class Local Government Institution focused on providing excellent service delivery to meet the socio-economic development needs of the people.
