Ahafo Ano District Assembly donates to PWDs

Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region have received items worth thousands of cedis to help them support themselves and their families.

The distribution through the disability common fund is intended to alleviate the plight of PWDs by assisting them in establishing their own businesses.
 
Refrigerators, fufu pounding machines, industrial sewing machine and knapsack sprayers are among the items.

Fourteen (14) people received items whereas ten (10) people also received monetary support worth GHc3,000 each.

In the latest donation which happened at the Assembly Hall of the Assembly at Mankranso on Tuesday January 30, 2024, Hon Eric Agyakum, the presiding Member of the Assembly who represented the DCE urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to help them have a better life.

Paul Atsu Agbezidor, the District Coordinating Director also noted that the beneficiaries should put the items into a proper use. He urged them to use it well and even purchase another to expand their businesses for a better life.
 
Many of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the District Assembly for its dedication to improving their lives.

Farouk Ibrahim who received an industrial sewing machine was overjoyed because it will help him grow his business and sustain himself.

Elder Charidan Kwofie who is the president of people living with disabilities in the District expressed his gratitude to the Assembly for the support.
