The newly elected members and government appointees of the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly (AASWDA) have been inaugurated for a four-year tenure to advance local development and governance.
Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region have received items worth thousands of cedis to help them support themselves and their families.
The distribution through the disability common fund is intended to alleviate the plight of PWDs by assisting them in establishing their own businesses.
Refrigerators, fufu pounding machines, industrial sewing machine and knapsack sprayers are among the items.
Fourteen (14) people received items whereas ten (10) people also received monetary support worth GHc3,000 each.
The Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly on Friday, January 12, 2024 held its first management meeting of the year at the District Health Directorate's Conference Hall to discuss the action plan for the year 2024.
The meeting was honoured with attendance of the District Chief Executive Hon Joseph Frimpong Bonsu, District Coordinating Director, Paul Atsu Agbezudor and All Heads of Department, Unit and Agencies of the District Assembly.
Nana Ampofo Twumasi III (Chief of Mpaasaso No2) and Hon Joseph Frimpong Bonsu (DCE, Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly) on Wednesday November 1, 2023 cut sod for the construction of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) facility at Mpasaaso No2 in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
The facility is expected to help churn out more engineering graduates in the country.
The facility which is expected to be completed within a space of 6 months, will have a 1-storey classroom block with ancillary facilities and external works.
